History of Halloween! Do You Known?

Halloween is coming soon! But Do you known about History of Halloween:  Straddling the line between fall and winter, plenty and paucity, life and death, Halloween is a time of celebration and superstition. It is thought to have originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off roaming ghosts. In the eighth century, Pope Gregory III designated November 1 as a time to honor all saints and martyrs; the holiday, All Saints’ Day, incorporated some of the traditions of Samhain. The evening before was known as All Hallows’ Eve and later Halloween. Over time, Halloween evolved into a secular, community-based event characterized by child-friendly activities such as trick-or-treating. In a number of countries around the world, as the days grow shorter and the nights get colder, people continue to usher in the winter season with gatherings, costumes and sweet treats.

Hot New Taylor Swift

With her latest album, "1989," about to drop, Taylor Swift is keeping busy with an international press tour.
Taylor Swift

Speaking to Esquire's Scott Raab:

You have celebrities who are pushed to the brink of a public meltdown, and so the public thinks that every person in the public eye has dirty secrets that they're keeping, or isn't what they seem, or is masking it and faking sincerity, faking authenticity, faking being surprised at award shows when you win a Grammy," she said, referencing her patented "surprised face" that has become a running joke online.

I'm not gonna let them make me have a meltdown," she told Raab. "But, I think, as a songwriter you lose your edge if you find a way to protect yourself from everything they're going to say about you. You lose touch with what made you vulnerable enough to connect with people in your songwriting. And that's not something I wanna do. So it's all about walking a tightrope between not being so fragile and breakable that they can level you with one blow and being raw enough to feel it and write about it when you feel it

Later, Swift, whose bodyguards apparently didn't leave her side for the interview, touched on the chilling reason she might have come off as paranoid in previous stories.

Swift revealed that she "fought the idea of having security for a very long," and though she truly values normalcy, she hasn't be able to drive by herself in six years.

Have to be in a car behind me. Because just the sheer number of men we have in a file who have showed up at my house, showed up at my mom's house, threatened to either kill me, kidnap me, or marry me," she explained. "This is the strange and sad part of my life that I try not to think about. I try to be lighthearted about it, because I don't ever want to be scared. I don't want to be walking down the street scared. And when I have security, I don't have to be scared.

Eugenie Bouchard Loses Opener At WTA Finals

Eugenie Bouc

Romania's Simona Halep comfortably defeated Canada's Eugenie Bouchard 6-2, 6-3 on Monday's opening night of the WTA Finals in Singapore.
In a clash of the only two players making their first appearance at the season-ending championships, Halep lost only four points when getting her first serve into play.
Bouchard, from Westmount, Que., was well below her best, racking up 30 unforced errors against 11 from Halep.
"Going for it is always my game style but today there was definitely a lack of consistency," Bouchard said. "I didn't feel match sharp, but I feel like I can build on this and I still have another match, which is a bit of a positive."
Bouchard will next face Ana Ivanovic on Wednesday while Halep will face Serena Williams.
Williams won her opening match earlier on Monday, beating Ana Ivanovic 6-4, 6-4 in the other Red Group match, for her 16th consecutive victory at the finals.
Williams came into the finals after injuries forced her out of her previous two outings and following Russian official Shamil Tarpischev's disparaging comments about her and sister Venus.
The top-ranked Williams was shaky in her opening service game, saving two break points, but still took a 4-1 lead. Ivanovic got back on serve but lost the first set when she double-faulted at 15-40 in the final game — one of her seven double-faults.
Williams served 12 aces and improved her record against Ivanovic to 8-1 despite her injury-interrupted preparation.
"I felt the knee a little bit, but compared to what it was in Beijing, it just feels so much better," Williams said. "I was up 4-1 in the first set and cruising and she does what she does best. I felt my energy level got a little low and then I just tried to do everything I can to bring my energy level up to just to fight."
In Tuesday's White Group matches, Maria Sharapova takes on Caroline Wozniacki and Petra Kvitova faces Agnieszka Radwanska.

Paul Walker

"I live by 'Go big or go home.' That's with everything. It's like either commit and go for it or don't do it at all. I apply that to everything..."
-Paul Walker
Paul Walker

Vin Diesel wasn't the only one who profited from the popularity ofThe Fast and the Furious (2001). Paul Walker, who had previously done teen movies like She's All That (1999) andVarsity Blues (1999), came away from the high-tempo action flick with newfound fame. He continued his success with a starring role in the cult film Running Scared and the critically-acclaimed Disney film Eight Below, which grossed over $20 million at the domestic box office.

He will forever be remembered for his role as Brian O'Connor in The Fast & The Furious franchise, which has gone on to spawn a total of six films, all of which have been commercial successes. It is, in fact, one of the most lucrative action franchises in all of film.

In 2010, he appeared alongside Hayden Christensen, Idris Elba, Chris Brown, Matt Dillon and rapper T.I. in the crime drama Takers, and in 2011 he became the face of the Coty Prestige fragrance brand Davidoff Cool Water for Men. That same year, the fifth installment in the Fast & Furious franchise, Fast Five, was released, grossing nearly $700 million worldwide.

Tragically, Paul Walker was killed in a car crash on November 30, 2013, after leaving a fundraising event for his charity Reach Out Worldwide, which was helping support victims of Typhoon Haiyan. He is survived by his daughter Meadow, and remembered fondly by his fans. As of right now, it is unclear how the seventh film in the Fast & Furious franchise will proceed, given that Walker's scenes were not completed.

MAGNETISM

Just being a fresh face is often enough to draw the ladies' attention (for a while, at least). Walker and his West Coast-surfer look reeled in women while he appeared on the big screen. Being tall, blond-haired and blue-eyed is great, which led us to believe that Paul was considered a god to the fairer sex. Matched with his "living on the edge" persona, Paul will always be remembered as a star who died before his time.

SUCCESS
With the strings his model mom could pull, Walker was thrust in front of the camera as soon as he was comfortable in diapers. Since then, though, Walker has been able to rack up a string of hits that have not only made him an icon of late-'90s teen cinema, but that also cemented his place as one of the most promising leading men of his generation, as evidenced in action-packed work like The Fast and the Furious franchise, as well as more adult-oriented fare, like Running Scared(2006) and The Lazarus Project.
